Federal Student Aid Programs

The Secretary amends the Institutional Eligibility Under the Higher Education Act of 1965, as Amended; Student Assistance General Provisions; General Provisions for the Federal Perkins Loan Program, Federal Work-Study Program, and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant Program; Federal Perkins Loan (Perkins Loan) Program; Federal Work-Study (FWS) Programs; Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) Program; William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program; Federal Pell Grant Program; and Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) regulations. The Secretary is amending these regulations to reduce administrative burden for program participants, and to provide them with greater flexibility to serve students and borrowers.
