Medicare Program; Application of Inherent Reasonableness to All Medicare Part B Services (Other Than Physician Services) Final Rule

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued an interim final rule to establish realistic and equitable payment amounts for Medicare Part B services, excluding physician services, when current payment amounts are deemed unreasonable. The rule responds to public comments and implements changes required by the Balanced Budget Act of 1997 and the Balanced Budget Refinement Act of 1999.
