FDA Releases Final Guidance on Genotoxicity Testing for Veterinary Drug Residues in Human Food

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has released a final guidance document (VICH GL23) for the veterinary industry, outlining a set of tests to assess the genotoxicity of veterinary drug residues in human food in the European Union, Japan, and the United States. This document is an adaptation of a previous guidance for pharmaceuticals, adopted by the International Conference on Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Approval of Pharmaceuticals for Human Use (ICH).
