MMS Proposes Single EIS for Oil and Gas Lease Sales in Central and Western Gulf of Mexico

Summary

The Minerals Management Service (MMS) is proposing a single Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for nine areawide oil and gas lease sales in the Central and Western Planning Areas, scheduled for 2003-2007, as part of the draft Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Leasing Program: 2002-2007. The MMS will solicit input from various stakeholders on environmental issues and alternatives to be evaluated in the EIS.
