Boeing Issues Airworthiness Directive for 727 Series Airplanes to Prevent Bearing Support Fitting Failure

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has adopted a new airworthiness directive requiring repetitive inspections and repairs of the bearing support fitting on Boeing Model 727 series airplanes to prevent collapse of the main landing gear and potential damage to the airplane structure and injury to passengers and crew.
