NMFS and NOS Amend Regulations to Change 'Gulf of Mexico' to 'Gulf of America'

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) and the National Ocean Service (NOS) are updating their rules to align with a Presidential directive, changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, in an effort to provide clarity for the public and ensure consistency with the Executive Order.
