Medicare Program; Changes to the Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System for Calendar Year 2002

The Medicare program is updating its hospital outpatient payment system to comply with new laws and to reflect changes in the system's performance. Starting January 1, 2002, the program will reduce payments by 68.9% for transitional pass-through services.
