Bureau of Indian Affairs to File Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Statement for Moapa Paiute Energy Center

The Bureau of Indian Affairs plans to submit a Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the proposed Moapa Paiute Energy Center, a 760-megawatt natural gas-fired power plant on the Moapa River Indian Reservation, with the Environmental Protection Agency. The project, developed by Calpine Corporation, aims to lease land and water for 25 years, with the possibility of a 20-year renewal.
