Coast Guard Proposes Revised Procedure for Responding to Notices of Violation

The US Coast Guard is proposing a change to its procedure for handling Notices of Violation, allowing recipients to avoid a lengthy and potentially more severe process by declining the notice within 45 days, while still maintaining the option to pursue a marine violation case at any time.
