Nuclear Regulatory Commission Proposes Amendment to Standardized Spent Fuel Storage Casks
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is proposing to update its regulations to allow for the use of a new dry storage canister, the -61BT, in the Standardized NUHOMS -24P and -52B cask system, but is rejecting a request to store failed fuel.
