Nuclear Regulatory Commission Proposes Revision to Skin Dose Limit

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is proposing to revise its regulations to make the skin dose limit less restrictive for small areas of skin irradiated, allowing for the measurement or calculation of dose equivalent from discrete radioactive particles, small areas of skin contamination, and other sources, with the goal of addressing skin and extremity doses from all source geometries under a single limit.
