FDA Amends Regulations to Allow Ozone Use as Antimicrobial Agent in Food

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the use of ozone as a safe antimicrobial agent in food, including meat and poultry, following a petition from the Electric Power Research Institute and the Agriculture and Food Technology Alliance.
