SBA Allows Small Business Investment Companies to Assume Control Over Small Businesses
The Small Business Administration (SBA) has finalized a rule allowing Small Business Investment Companies (SBICs) to take control of small businesses without prior notice, and to retain that control for up to seven years or longer with SBA approval. SBICs can also sell equity in portfolio companies to their competitors.
