HUD Proposes to Discontinue Section 221(d)(2) Mortgage Insurance Program

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is proposing to discontinue its section 221(d)(2) mortgage insurance program, which primarily provides low-cost financing for one- to four-family housing, due to its low mortgage limits and limited homeownership opportunities.
