EPA Approves New York State Implementation Plan Revision for Ozone Control

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to approve a revision to the New York State Implementation Plan (SIP) for ozone, which aims to reduce emissions of volatile organic compounds and oxides of nitrogen in upstate New York, in compliance with the Clean Air Act (CAA). The proposed rule, if unchallenged, will result in emission reductions that help achieve the national ambient air quality standard for ozone.
