IRS Issues Final Regulations for Earned Income Credit Due Diligence Requirements for Paid Tax Preparers

The Internal Revenue Service has released final regulations requiring paid tax preparers to conduct due diligence to determine eligibility for the Earned Income Credit, a change made by the Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997.
