NASA Waives Environmental Review for Mars Surveyor 2001 Mission

NASA is providing notice that it will not prepare a Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for the Mars Surveyor 2001 Mission, instead relying on a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI), following public comments on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS). The mission, originally planned to include a lander and rover, will not involve the launch of radioactive materials.
