Copyright Office Ruling Sparks Additional Time for Filing Notices in Digital Performance Right Proceedings

The Library of Congress is extending the filing deadline for Notices of Intent to Participate in the Digital Performance Right in Sound Recordings and Ephemeral Recordings consolidated proceedings, following a ruling by the Copyright Office that broadcasters are not exempt from copyright liability when retransmitting copyrighted works over the internet. The Library is also releasing a precontroversy discovery schedule for these proceedings.
