Nuclear Regulatory Commission Adjusts Civil Penalties for Inflation and Makes Administrative Changes

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has updated its regulations to reflect inflation adjustments to civil monetary penalties, including increases to maximum fines for Atomic Energy Act violations and program fraud civil penalties, as mandated by Congress in the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act of 1990 and the Debt Collection Improvement Act of 1996.
