FDA Reclassifies 316L Stainless Steel Suture for Abdominal Wound Closure and Other Procedures
The FDA has reclassified the 316L stainless steel suture from class III to class II, requiring special controls, after issuing a letter to Alto Development Corp. and codifying the change in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). The reclassification was previously made in 1986 but not properly published or codified.
