FDA Withdraws Food Additive Petition for 2-Bromo-2-Nitro-1,3-Propanediol

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has withdrawn a petition to amend food additive regulations to allow the safe use of 2-bromo-2-nitro-1,3-propanediol as an antimicrobial in food-contact paper and paperboard, without precluding a future filing.
