FDA Proposes New Classification and Special Controls for Apnea Monitors

The FDA is publishing a proposed rule to create a separate classification for apnea monitors, which will be subject to a special control, a guidance document outlining minimum performance and labeling recommendations, in an effort to ensure the safety and effectiveness of these devices.
