Airworthiness Directives; McDonnell Douglas Model MD-11 Series Airplanes

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) proposes a new airworthiness directive for certain McDonnell Douglas Model MD-11 series airplanes, requiring a one-time inspection of the wire bundle installation behind the first observer's station to prevent potential electrical issues. The proposed directive aims to address a reported issue where the wire bundle was in contact with the feedthrough, which could lead to cable chafing, electrical arcing, smoke, or fire in the cockpit.
