FDIC Adopts Rule Requiring Resolution Plans for Large Banks
The FDIC is requiring insured depository institutions with $50 billion or more in assets to submit a contingency plan for resolving the institution in case of failure, with the goal of ensuring depositors receive access to their insured deposits within one business day and maximizing asset sale value while minimizing losses to creditors. This rule aims to address the risks of insolvency in large and complex banks.
