Federal Government Proposes Regulations for DC Retirement Benefit Payments

The US Department of the Treasury is issuing proposed regulations to implement the 1997 Balanced Budget Act, which assigns the Secretary of the Treasury responsibility for paying benefits to DC police and firefighters, teachers, and judges based on their service credits as of June 30, 1997.
