Safety Advisory: Unauthorized Marking of Compressed Gas Cylinders

The US government has issued a safety advisory warning the public about potentially hazardous compressed gas cylinders marked by Fire Extinguisher Sales & Service (FESS) that may not have been properly tested. The cylinders, which could pose a risk to public safety, were found to have been marked as tested without proper retesting or Retester Identification Number (RIN) verification during a 1998 compliance inspection.
