OSHA to Seek Comment on Economic Impacts of Ergonomics Rule on Specific Industries

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is using a document to provide information and analysis on the economic impacts of the proposed ergonomics rule on state and local governments, the United States Postal Service, and railroads, and to seek comment on these economic impacts. The document supplements the Agency's preliminary economic analysis and initial regulatory flexibility analysis of the economic impact of the Ergonomics Program Rule, and sets dates for a pre-hearing comment period, a public hearing, and a post-hearing comment period to address the economic impacts exclusively in these three industries.
