SBA Implements Rule to Exempt Certain Consideration Paid to Small Business Investment Companies
The Small Business Administration (SBA) has implemented a rule to exclude certain types of consideration paid to small business investment companies (SBICs) from cost of money limitations, as mandated by Public Law 106-9, enacted on April 5, 1999. This provision aims to support small businesses by allowing them to receive non-cash forms of compensation without being penalized for the value of these payments.
