EPA to Implement Section 112(g) Program in Connecticut and Massachusetts
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) plans to implement section 112(g) of the Clean Air Act in the states of Connecticut and Massachusetts, requiring state permitting authorities to make case-by-case maximum achievable control technology (MACT) determinations for major sources of hazardous air pollutants. The EPA will implement the program for these states until June 29, 1999, or the effective date of the state program, whichever is earlier.
