Medicare Program; Changes to the Hospital Inpatient Prospective Payment Systems and Fiscal Year 1999 Rates; Corrections

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is correcting errors in a previous rule published in the Federal Register on July 31, 1998, which revised the Medicare hospital inpatient prospective payment systems for operating costs and capital-related costs. The corrections pertain to changes arising from the Balanced Budget Act of 1997 and the prospective payment rates for Medicare hospital inpatient services starting October 1, 1998.
