Kentucky and Department of the Interior Enter Cooperative Agreement for Surface Coal Mining Regulation

The Governor of Kentucky and the Secretary of the Department of the Interior are collaborating on a cooperative agreement to oversee surface coal mining and reclamation operations on federal lands in Kentucky, building on the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977.
