NMFS Identifies Overfished Fisheries Under Magnuson-Stevens Act

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has notified the public that certain fisheries are overfished or approaching overfished conditions, prompting the Regional Fishery Management Councils to take action to rebuild depleted stocks and prevent overfishing.
