SEC Amends Rule 17Ad-18 to Require Year 2000 Readiness Reports from Non-Bank Transfer Agents

The Securities and Exchange Commission is requiring certain non-bank transfer agents to file a report prepared by an independent public accountant on their process for addressing Year 2000 problems, in order to aid the Commission in understanding the industry's overall preparations for the turn of the millennium.
