Federal Acquisition Regulation; Relocation Costs

The Civilian Agency Acquisition Council and the Defense Acquisition Regulations Council are proposing to amend the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) to remove the ceilings imposed on certain types of relocation costs; to remove specific references to mortgage interest differential and rental differential payments; to permit reimbursement of relocation costs on a lump-sum basis in certain situations; and to make allowable payments for spouse employment assistance and for increased employee income and Federal Insurance Contributions Act (FICA) taxes incident to allowable reimbursed relocation costs.
