Federal Civil Penalties Increased for Consumer Product Safety Act Violations

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced adjusted maximum civil penalty amounts under the Consumer Product Safety Act, the Federal Hazardous Substances Act, and the Flammable Fabrics Act, effective immediately, with new amounts set at $7,000 per violation and $1,650,000 for related series of violations.
