Request for Comments Concerning Trade Regulation Rule on Funeral Industry Practices

The Federal Trade Commission (the ``Commission'') is requesting public comments on its Trade Regulation Rule on Funeral Industry Practices (``the Funeral Rule'' or ``the Rule''). The Commission requests comments about the overall costs and benefits of the Rule and its overall regulatory and economic impact as a part of its systematic review of all current Commission regulations and guides. Also requested are comments on whether the Rule should be modified to broaden its scope to include non-traditional providers of funeral goods or services; revise or clarify the prohibition on casket handling fees; or prohibit non-declinable funeral fees. All interested persons are hereby given notice of the opportunity to submit written data, views and arguments concerning the Rule.
