Charges for Certain Disclosures

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) will increase the allowable charge under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) from $8.00 to $8.50 on January 1, 2000, due to a 4.16% rise in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) since September 1997. The change is based on the 1996 amendments to the FCRA, which require annual adjustments to the maximum allowable charge.
