Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Final Rule: Implementation of Protection and Advocacy for Mentally Ill Individuals Act of 1986

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has issued a final rule to implement Titles I and III of the Protection and Advocacy for Mentally Ill Individuals Act of 1986, requiring the regulation of authorized activities of Protection and Advocacy (P&A) Systems to protect and advocate the rights of individuals with mental illness.
