U.S. Department of Defense Proposes Addition of System of Records Notice Under the Privacy Act of 1974

The Office of the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Defense plans to implement a new system of records notice, effective December 22, 1997, unless comments are received within that timeframe. The proposed system will be submitted to the House Committee on Government Reform and Oversight, the Senate Committee on Governmental Affairs, and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB)
