Illinois Approves Tightened VOM Regulations for Cold Cleaning Degreasing Operations

The State of Illinois has approved a revised State Implementation Plan (SIP) that aims to reduce Volatile Organic Material (VOM) emissions by 11.35 tons per day in the Chicago area and 0.79 tons per day in the Metro-East area by 1999, in an effort to combat smog and its associated health and environmental impacts.
