Stillwater Mining Company to Expand Tailing Impoundment Facility in Montana

The USDA and Montana Department of Environmental Quality will jointly prepare an environmental impact statement for the construction and operation of a new tailing impoundment facility 7 miles northeast of the Stillwater Mine, which will assess the environmental effects on both federal and private lands.
