Interim South Delta Program, Central Valley, CA
Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 and the California Environmental Quality Act, the Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) and the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) have prepared a draft environmental impact report/draft environmental impact statement (DEIR/DEIS) for the Interim South Delta Program. The DEIR/DEIS was made available to the public on about August 19, 1996. Reclamation and DWR have scheduled two public workshops to present material on the alternatives and to answer questions. Two public hearings will also be held to receive comments from interested organizations and individuals on the environmental impacts of the project. In its role as a cooperating agency, a representative of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District, will be present at all public workshops and hearings.
