NMFS Issues Final Rule for Summer Flounder and Scup Fishery Management Plan Amendment 8

Summary

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has issued a final rule to implement three provisions of Amendment 8 to the Summer Flounder and Scup Fisheries Management Plan, which were initially disapproved but revised and resubmitted by the Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council, in an effort to reduce fishing mortality and allow the stock to rebuild.
