Building Energy Standards Program: Determination Regarding Energy Efficiency Improvements in the 1995 CABO Model Energy Code for Low-Rise Residential Buildings

The Department of Energy (DOE or Department) today determines that the 1995 version of the Council of American Building Officials (CABO) Model Energy Code (Model Energy Code or MEC) would achieve greater energy efficiency in low-rise residential buidings than the 1993 version of the MEC. This Notice also provides guidance and procedures covering State Certifications, Statements of Reasons and Requests for Extensions of Deadlines.
