Section 8 Housing Assistance Payments Program; Contract Rent Annual Adjustment Factors Fiscal Year 1997

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has released revised Annual Adjustment Factors (AAFs) for the Section 8 Housing Assistance Payments program, effective for assistance contract anniversaries starting October 1, 1996. The AAFs are calculated based on changes in residential rent and utilities costs, as reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Price Index (CPI) and HUD's Random Digit Dialing (RDD) surveys.
