Airworthiness Directives; McDonnell Douglas Model DC-10 Series Airplanes and KC-10A (Military) Airplanes
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued an airworthiness directive (AD) for certain McDonnell Douglas Model DC-10 series and KC-10A military airplanes, requiring high-frequency eddy current inspections to detect cracks in the horizontal stabilizer's secondary pivot support. The inspections aim to prevent fatigue cracking, which could compromise the airplane's structural integrity and controllability.
