Federal Acquisition Regulation to Allow Modification of Existing Contracts Without Consideration

The Civilian Agency Acquisition Council and the Defense Acquisition Regulations Council have agreed on an interim rule to amend the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) to implement the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996, allowing contractors to modify existing contracts without requiring consideration, upon request, to incorporate changes authorized by the Act.
