Federal Acquisition Regulation; Independent Government Estimates- Construction: FAR Rule Amended to Increase Construction Cost Threshold

The Civilian Agency Acquisition Council and the Defense Acquisition Regulations Council have agreed on a final rule amending the Federal Acquisition Regulation to increase the threshold for a mandatory independent Government estimate of construction costs and architect-engineer costs from $25,000 to $100,000, exempting this regulatory action from Office of Management and Budget review under Executive Order 12866 and classification as a minor rule under 5 U.S.C. 804.
