FCC Adopts Rules to Revise Price Cap Regulation of Local Exchange Carriers

The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has adopted new rules to revise its price cap regulation of local exchange carriers, aiming to make it easier for them to introduce new services and lower rates. The rules, proposed in a Second Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in 1995, were adopted in a Third Report and Order, following public comments on the proposal.
