Consumer Leasing (Regulation M) Amendment to Exemption Threshold

The Federal Reserve Board and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau are finalizing changes to the regulations implementing the Consumer Leasing Act, which requires the annual adjustment of the exemption threshold for consumer leases based on the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers. As of June 1, 2018, the exemption threshold will increase from $55,800 to $57,200, effective January 1, 2019, due to the annual percentage increase in the CPI-W.
